The third festival I attended was the London International Animation Festival. Unlike MAF and Encounters, I did not get a lot out of the festival. I went to a couple of screenings, one purely to rewatch some animations I had seen before (After All and Min Borden). I also attended the talk 'Women in Animation' which discussed the approach of women and students generally, utilising experimental animation in their shorts, projects and showreels and having the confidence to show that this type of animation can get you a job. However I am not an experimental animator.
I also got the opportunity to catch up with Steve Henderson who said he may be able to help me visit the Lupus studio at some point in the week. Unfortunately they did not have anything to show at the time so this was not possible.
